A summary of our story from the Past, Present and Future.
Established in 2002 in South London, SELECTA quickly made a name for itself. We expanded into new offices and hired new recruits to meet demand. We peaked at just shy of £3 million annual turnover in 2008/09.
As a mature company we have used past experiences to foster a new approach which helps us to be more effective nationally. We now work from 6 key locations with the aim of keeping our regulars busy on local jobs.
We are open to what the future holds and realistic about what we want to achieve. The future of government construction policy will always affect us but we will always be ready to change tack to meet client requirements.
HOW WE WORK
At SELECTA we work to bring together Jobs, Recruitment and Payroll.
As a construction recruitment consultancy, we specialise in finding construction jobs. After we have secured the right jobs for our workforce, we then log estimated finish dates to secure ‘follow up’ jobs, which helps to build loyalty among our workforce. We value operatives with a good attitude, so we prioritise these people, which helps us to maintain satisfied clients.
When we undertake recruitment for a client, we take it seriously. This is because the right people can make a fantastic contribution to a project, whereas people with a poor attitude and the wrong skillset will do the opposite. For this reason we start recruitment with a conversation to find out about the skills, tools, experience and attitude of an individual. Only after this do we check certificates, CSCS cards and references.
We send our timesheets electronically each week, giving us the assurance of an electronic trail, which helps us to keep payroll in order. We currently use Adobe Sign. All timesheets are compiled and sent to our clients by 12 noon every Monday. Any outstanding timesheets will be chased up by 12 noon on Wednesday. All timesheets with authorised hours or shifts are paid by Friday 5pm, each week, without fail.
